Hello again:

Another year of stamps, and another poll.  These are the results. The winner is Faroe with the 16% of the available points.  In case that you are interested in how I reach to these results, here is the explanation.

You sended to me your top 5.   I assigned 5 points to the first,  4 to the second, 3 to the third, 2 to the fourth and 1 point to the fifth.  At the end of the poll, the stamp with more points was the winner.  In this case it was Faroe Island with 76 points (16% of the total points).  I received 32 votes this year.

Among the voters (31, because I do not participate),  I randomly chose a winner.  This year the winner is Victor, from Kaliningrad.  The prize is a set of Lighthouses of Taiwan 2014 that next week will start to travel to Russia.  Thanks to Victor for his vote, and thanks to all the participants.

I am working in the PDF list of 2014.  It will be available the second half of January.

We keep in touch
Carlos

20140915 - St THOMAS and PRINCE

*** Updated with new image ***

Code: STP-2014-02
Release Date: September 15, 2014
Title: Avenues from St.Thomas and Prince
Format: Serie of 8 stamps
Sheets of: 8 stamps (1  serie)
Currency: Dobra - STD

Stamp N. 8 of the serie

25000 (STD)
The building in light blue with vertical stripes in Red and White
Lighthouse: Santo Antonio do Principe - D 4155

This is the first stamp coming from Saint Thomas and Prince in this millenium that I want to have in my collection.

STP is always a candidate for me to the doubtful issues, but in this case I will let it pass.  I do not know if it is because differs in the format (it is not the classic bogus combo of Minisheet + Block) or because it contains real photos from the country. I do not know.  But I will list this in the regular section.

Also, who knows?  Maybe, with this kind of stamps, we are closer to a real issue about Lighthouses from STP in the future.

Hello Friends:

Last month of the year. Although one always is hoping a surprise, apparently all is said and done regarding lighthouses stamps for 2014.

There was less stamps than last year.  We had 91 total issues in 2013, but until now only 56 in 2014.
The positive side of these numbers, is that our wallet is happy.

So, let´s take these last days of the year to review the 2014 and make a list with the best issues.

The last week of the year, a Top 10 will be released.  As an incentive and thanks  (like last year), I will choose randomly among voters a winner to receive a surprise gift. It will be a set of lighthouse stamps issued this year.

I will need that you choose 5 issues. Please send to me your list to the mail here below written:

My vote for 2014 in decreasing order of importance is:
1 - Best issue:  South Africa
2 - Faroe
3 - Jersey (New Jersey issue)
4 - Taiwan
5 - Isle of Man (Dark Sky)

Let me know your opinion.

Saludos!
Carlos
