20140924 - SAINT PIERRE ET MIQUELON

UPDATED: November 19

New information about this stamp obtained directly from the stand of Saint Pierre et Miquelon Post Office in the last Philatelic Exhibition in Paris.

The Pointe aux Canons stamp will be released in September 24, but in the year 2015,  not 2014.  It was an error in the publishing of the 2014 stamp programme.

Bruno, the person who obtained this information and kindly shared with us, also got a preview image of the stamp for the next year.

So, we have to wait, but the Pointe aux Canons stamp will be released.

Thanks to Klaus and Bruno for the info and the image.

UPDATED: September 26
No news about this issue coming from SPM.  The stamps are still listed in the 2014 program but beyond that, nothing indicates that these stamps were released.  I am starting to think about a delay or a cancellation.

LOOKING at 2015

Hello Friends:

The issuing programs for 2015 are starting to show up.  And luckily, some of them have lighthouses.

Releases from 2 countries will have lighthouses, but with no certain date of issue yet.
-Germany: Moritzburg and Lindau  (thanks Klaus for the info).
-Macau: 150th anniversary of Guia Lighthouse.
(More information about these stamps, when the issue date is known).

Today, I received the information of a third country.  Latvia will continue with the anual releases of "Latvijas bākas".  The date and info in the next entry.

We keep in touch.
Carlos

UPDATE of 2013

Hello Friends:

It´s a very "slow" time of the year.   Nothing new is appearing.  So, I take this free time to update the list of the year 2013 with 2 issues that I had in waiting mode.   Nothing important.  Two First Day Covers.

The PDF file of 2013 was also updated and you can download the 3.0 version or any previous year´s versions by clicking the link at the right bar of the blog.

We keep in touch

20141005 - CUBA

Code: CUB-2014-02
Release Date: October 05, 2014 (to be confirmed)
Postal Authority: ECC - Empresa de Correos de Cuba
Title: FAROS  (Lighthouses)
Format: Serie of 4 stamps
Sheets of: 24 stamps
Currency: Cuban Peso - CUP
Lighthouses:

15 - Castillo del Morro (J-4857)
35 - Cayo Jutias (J-4828)
75 - Cayo Cruz del Padre - Hernán Cortes (J-4886)
85 - Morro Santiago de Cuba (J-5046)

3 of the 4 stamps of the serie depicts lighthouses previously shown in the release of 2010 (Jutias, Cruz del Padre, Morro Santiago de Cuba).  The other is Castillo del Morro, who appeared a million times in Cuban stamps.

Why this repetition?   I do not understand...  A wasted opportunity to show other lighthouses of the island.  I´m very disappointed with this.

Thanks Jaap for the alert on this issue.
