Old but New - Canada 1994

The first "Canada Day" sheet in my collection. This issue from 1994 dedicated to Maple Trees, shows in the label (Top Right) and in the last stamp (bottom right) a stylized lighthouse, maybe inspired in Pachena Point.

Pachena Point Lighthouse
I mentions that this is my first, because there are others Canada Day sheets with lighthouses. The issues from 1983, 1985, 1992, 1993 include a lighthouse in the block. I´m still searching for these sheets.

Happy Birthday! - Uruguay 1968 and 1971

A day like today (November 12) but in 1968, Uruguay released a serie of 7 stamps celebrating the 150 Anniversary of the National Navy. The serie was a mix between regular (3) and air mail(4). One of the three regular mail stamps was dedicated to the navigation aid. A buoy in the front and in the background a stylized lighthouse inspired by the "Isla de Lobos" light.

And three years later, exactly in the same day (November 12-1971), Uruguay Correos overprinted a new value and a locomotive on the lighthouse, transforming the regular mail stamp in a parcel post stamp.

In the background of the second stamp, we can see the iconic figure of the "Cerro de Montevideo" (Montevideo´s Hill). And at the top,  there is a lighthouse with the same name.

Where did I see it before?
-In 2002 this lighthouse had a special issue for the bicentenary of life.

 - And as I told before, this hill is an iconic figure in Uruguay, so it appear in numerous stamps. For example:

In the 1965 National Flag issue

Do you like golf? In this stamp from 1996 the Farola appear at the top.

Or in this serie from 2009, honoring to Charles Darwin. Look for it and you will find it.
