BEST STAMPS with LIGHTHOUSES 2017

Hello Friends:

This is the top 10 of stamps with lighthouses of this blog for the year 2017. Thanks to all of you that sended your opinions and helped to build this list.

1st Place

BULGARIA - June 22
In Minisheet or single stamps. Fantastic set of 4 stamps with a great selection of bulgarian lighthouses. Shapes for all kind of preferences.

2nd Place

GUERNSEY - February 15
Head to head for the first place in my preferences. So, why the second place?  Because it is a Post and Go, and the left part of the stamp with the blank space and the inscriptions diminish the beauty of the all.

 3rd Place

PORTUGAL - September 08
Great photo of one of the most beautiful lighthouses of Europe.

4
CAMBODIA

October 10

Very welcome issue. Unusual selection of lighthouses very difficult to find on stamps. With a better quality in the photos, this set could be some places up in the list.
5
LATVIA

September 08

Both lighthouses depicted are ugly. But the way the designer put the pieces together inside the frame results in a beautiful stamp.
6
SAINT PIERRE ET MIQUELON

October 18

Gravure.  Few colours but with the right tone. Great stamp.

7
MONTENEGRO

November 10

I am not a big fan of this stamp. But apparently it is appreciated by you, friends. It received a lot of votes that allow it to climb to the seventh place.

8
GERMANY

June 08

Odd lighthouses selected by Germany this year. Kiel and Bremerhaven specially (aka Onion Tower). This last one,  bizarre but nice to see.

9
ALDERNEY

May 17

Clean and bright view of Alderney or Manez or Quesnard Lighthouse

10
PHILLIPINES

May 08

Unusual lighthouses to see on stamps like Cambodia. Fantastic skies.
Visually powerful.

Merry Christmas for you all.

Great design. A lot of information and images in a tiny space of one stamp.

 3rd Place

SOUTH KOREA - August 25
Colourful design helped by a marvelous selection of lighthouses.

4
GERMANY
July 07

Reinhard Scheiblich (photos) at his best. Specially Kampen, Even the cows combine with the lighthouse!

5
GUERNSEY
May 25

Big waves and lighthouses, a combination that always results in a great view.
6
NETHERLANDS
February 01
and
May 23

Excellent year for us thanks to the serie "Mooi Nederland". Several lighthouses with a very good stylistic interpretation
7
NORWAY
October 01

Sober but nice design for this serie that in 2017 will take a break.
8
SAINT PIERRE
ET
MIQUELON

October 07

I have a predilection for the gravure. So here it is the work of Elsa Catelin for the SPM stamp of
Pointe-Plate
9
JERSEY
November 4

Great photos of Noirmont and La Corbiere among the winter stamps of this year
10
IRELAND
October 06

Disappointing design of the stamps of this highly anticipated set. This issue reaches the Number 10 only helped by a good design of the booklet and some great photos in the panes of it.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and that 2017 be better than 2016.

BEST STAMPS with LIGHTHOUSES - YEAR 2015

Hello:

And here are the results for this year.  I received 32 votes of what you think that were the best 10 issues in 2015.  Points were assigned according to the position, and the sum of all, returns us this list.   A surprise?  Yes,  I believe that the winner is a surprise.  I liked the stamp but I didn't think that could be so high.

Happy Holidays to all.

8 releases collects the 11 % of the votes remaining

Hello again:

Another year of stamps, and another poll.  These are the results. The winner is Faroe with the 16% of the available points.  In case that you are interested in how I reach to these results, here is the explanation.

You sended to me your top 5.   I assigned 5 points to the first,  4 to the second, 3 to the third, 2 to the fourth and 1 point to the fifth.  At the end of the poll, the stamp with more points was the winner.  In this case it was Faroe Island with 76 points (16% of the total points).  I received 32 votes this year.

Among the voters (31, because I do not participate),  I randomly chose a winner.  This year the winner is Victor, from Kaliningrad.  The prize is a set of Lighthouses of Taiwan 2014 that next week will start to travel to Russia.  Thanks to Victor for his vote, and thanks to all the participants.

I am working in the PDF list of 2014.  It will be available the second half of January.
