A marine chart of Saint Pierre et Miquelon and Canada was used as a base for the design of the block.  The quality of the image that I found only allow me to show 2 of the many lighthouses whose location are described in that chart.  

Point Plate in Langlade (H-0330) and Cap Blanc in Miquelon (H-0328). The red light zone of both lighthouses are depicted too. They converge over the Veaux Marins rocks.

With a close and personal look of the block, many more lighthouse locations will appear.

The black overprinted stamp depicted in this new stamp from SPM is a real treasure, with a high (very, very high) catalogue value,  and very difficult to find in the market. 

Next, you can see an image of one of this stamp used.  A great item for collectors.  If you decide to pursuit one of these stamps, please beware of the forgeries.  Expertise before.

 

 

 

20140924 - SAINT PIERRE ET MIQUELON

UPDATED: November 19

 

New information about this stamp obtained directly from the stand of Saint Pierre et Miquelon Post Office in the last Philatelic Exhibition in Paris. 

The Pointe aux Canons stamp will be released in September 24, but in the year 2015,  not 2014.  It was an error in the publishing of the 2014 stamp programme.  

Bruno, the person who obtained this information and kindly shared with us, also got a preview image of the stamp for the next year. 

 

 

So, we have to wait, but the Pointe aux Canons stamp will be released.

UPDATED: September 26
No news about this issue coming from SPM.  The stamps are still listed in the 2014 program but beyond that, nothing indicates that these stamps were released.  I am starting to think about a delay or a cancellation.
