Hello and Welcome. My name is Carlos and the intention of this blog is to show all the new releases of stamps with Lighthouses. From those dedicated exclusively to this topic up to the stamps where you have to use a magnifying glass to find a Lighthouse. If you know of a stamp with these characteristics and it's not listed, please let me know so I can posted. Thanks in advance.

Almost a year ago, I was fortunate to navigate that area of IOM. I assure you that the view of the lighthouse, from the ocean, is spectacular. http://turismoyfaros.blogspot.com.ar/2014/06/iom-navegando-la-costa-este-de-man.HTML |
Next, some words extracted from the IoM Post Office Press Release regarding the history of the Master Frank and why is he navigating this area:
"... The Master Frank is the Island’s longest-surviving half-decker still afloat and was built around 1896 by Clucas and Duggan in Ramsey, to cope with the short, sharp seas to the North East of Ramsey where vessels practiced the fishing trade. She was subsequently purchased by the Kinnin family who fished mainly for cod using a long line. She remained with them until 1964 when Willie Kinnin sold her. The Kinnins repurchased her again in 1969, keeping her until 1976. After a thorough rebuild she was then re-launched in 1996 and is now a regular sight at traditional boat events..."
Thank you very much Paul from IoM Stamps and Coins for the help.
Minisheet, First Day Cover and Presentation Pack availables for pre-order at IOM Post Office web shop

General Info: Cancel and Postal Stationery from Argentina
The province of Tierra del Fuego in Argentina will host an International Philatelic Expo between March 23 and 28. Correo Argentino will release 2 ítems in homage to this event. A cancel and a postal stationery.
Cancel
![]() |
Date: March 23 to 28
City: Rio Grande (city where the expo is organized)
Lighthouse: Les Eclaireurs
Postal Stationery
The design of the postal stationery depicts several images of the city of Rio Grande and fauna of the province. And we find the lighthouse again in the logo of the expo (top left) like in the Cancel. But the interesting part of this PS is a map in the center of the design.
The map shows a part of the province, with 4 points highlighted. The location of the 2 major cities of the province:
-Rio Grande (the host of the expo)
-Ushuaia (the tourist city)
And the other 2 points are for the famous lighthouses of this part of the planet.
-Les Eclaireurs (near Ushuaia)
-San Juan de Salvamento located in the Isla de los Estados
And is always good to explain and remember that "Les Eclaireurs" IS NOT the "Lighthouse of the End of the World". San Juan de Salvamento is.
